When Hosting a Game
FOR ANDROID USERS
Getting Started as a Host:
Download the free TV-Top Games app from Google Play and open it. You can also open play.tvtop.games in Chrome, which works the same way.
Sign in, or type a name under “Or play as a guest” and tap “Okay”. Guests can play Classics and the free demos. You'll need a free account to buy a game or link a TV app.
Tap “Host Game”
Pick a game:
Classics (chess, checkers, sea battle, hearts, spades and more) is free for everyone and is always under “Your games”
Tap “Play free” on a demo card for a short game of Frontier Island or Global Conquest
Games you own are under “Your games”. Tap one to host it
If the game has setup options, choose them and tap the button at the bottom to continue (for Classics, that's “Play Chess”, “Play Checkers” and so on)
Putting the Game on Your TV:
In the game lobby, tap “Put the board on a TV”, or the TV icon in the top right-hand corner
Choose your TV:
Chromecast or Google TV: pick it under Chromecast. Your phone and TV need to be on the same Wi-Fi network.
Roku, Fire TV or another TV: get the TV-Top Games app on your TV (Roku, Fire TV), or open tv.tvtop.games in your TV's web browser. Then tap “Link TV” on your phone and enter the code your TV shows. You only do this once. After that, your TV is in the list every time.
If you have trouble:
For Chromecast, make sure your phone and TV are on the same Wi-Fi network.
If your TV can't cast and has no TV-Top app, a Google TV box will do the job.
Inviting Friends to Join:
Tap “Invite friends” to send the link, or have friends scan the QR code on the TV. They can also go to play.tvtop.games and enter the game code.
Friends type their name and tap “Join”. They don't need the app or an account, and they can join from any phone, tablet or computer.
As friends join, they appear under “Watching”. Tap “Seat” next to each name to make them a player. In Classics, you can also tap “Add a computer player” to fill an empty seat.
Once everyone is seated, tap “Start Game” to begin
Gameplay:
The game board stays on the TV, and each player's hand appears on their own phone
Each phone shows whose turn it is, so everyone knows when to go
When you finish your turn, tap “End Turn” (in Frontier Island, scroll to the bottom of the screen to find it)
