Overview

Words brings the timeless, brain-stimulating gameplay of a classic game like Scrabble into a modern, digital experience for your living room. Players use their smartphones as tile racks, forming words on a shared board cast to the TV screen via Chromecast.

Each player strategically places letter tiles on the board, earning points based on letter values and special bonus squares, all while competing for the highest total score.

How to Play

Setup

• The TV displays a 15x15 letter board, complete with premium scoring squares (double/triple letter and word scores).
• Players join the game using their phones by scanning an on-screen QR code, which serves as their personal tile rack and scoreboard.

Gameplay

1. Turn Sequence

   • Players receive a set of 7 random letter tiles at the start of the game, visible only on their device screens.

2. Placing Words

   • On your turn, use your phone to drag and drop letters onto the digital board displayed on the TV.
   • Words must connect to previously placed letters, crossword-style, forming valid dictionary words horizontally or vertically.

3. Scoring

   • Points are calculated based on the letters used, considering bonus squares (Double Letter, Triple Letter, Double Word, Triple Word).
   • Scores update in real-time on the TV, building anticipation and friendly competition.

4. Refreshing Tiles

   • After each turn, your tile rack refreshes with new letters, maintaining seven letters until the pool of tiles runs out.

Winning

• The game ends when one player uses all their tiles, or when no player can make a move. The highest-scoring player at that moment wins.
